Stopping Messenger Service

To help stop pop up messages on your computer (the kind that pops up in front of everything with a text message), you can disable the Messenger service.

- Click Start, Settings, Control Panel
- Click Performance and Maintenance
- Click Administrative Tools
- Double click Services
- Scroll down and right click on "Messenger", then choose 'Properties'.
- Click the STOP button
- Select Manual as the 'Startup Type' and click OK.
